Spousora

A vetted members’ room

Nobody gets in until we’ve met them.

Six honest photographs. One twenty-minute conversation with a real person. Then a room where every single member has done exactly the same.

What we do

We check that people are who they say they are, before you meet them.

Spousora is not a bigger pool. It is a smaller one, with a door on it. Everything below happens before a profile is ever shown to another member.

A profile in your own words

Your name, your age, where you live, and plainly what you are here for — marriage, a long relationship, or getting to know people. It is the first thing anyone is matched on.

Six photographs to a brief

A fixed set, taken with a guide on screen. Two of them stay off your public grid and open only when a connection is mutual.

Twenty minutes with a reviewer

A booked video call. They check your government ID against your photographs and speak to you. Pass, and you are sealed. There is no other way through.

The room

Members who agreed to be shown here.

Being verified is consent to be in the room; appearing on a public web page is a separate one, asked for separately. Most of the room is not below, and that is the point.

How the system stays honest

The rules that make the room worth being in.

None of these are features. They are constraints we accept, and most of them cost us members.

The seal is earned, never bought

Verification is free and always will be. A paid member and a free member have been through exactly the same door — if money could buy the seal, the seal would mean nothing.

A decline is silent

If someone turns down your request, you are never told. You simply see nothing. Nobody is handed a rejection, and nobody can pressure anyone with one.

Two frames stay private

The bare-face and back-view photographs are held back from your public grid. They are released to one person, on a mutual connection, and not before.

Requests are rationed

A limited number of connect requests a week, for everyone. Scarcity is what makes an inbox worth opening, and it is why the notes people write here are real ones.

A person decides, not a score

Every application is read and every interview is conducted by a human reviewer. There is no automated approval path, which is why we quote days rather than seconds.

Your location is never exact

Distance is shown rounded to the nearest kilometre with a floor, so nobody can pace around a city and triangulate where you live.

The photograph contract

The same six from everyone. No exceptions.

One flattering angle tells you nothing. Six, taken to a brief, tell you what somebody actually looks like — which is the least you are owed before you agree to meet them.

01

Portrait

Head and shoulders, eyes to camera, taken in the last six months.

02

Full length

Head to feet, standing, everyday clothes, nothing cropped.

03

At your best

Dressed the way you would actually show up. Not the same outfit as 02.

04 · held back

Bare face

No make-up, no filter, daylight. Released on a mutual connection.

05 · held back

Back view

Standing, facing away, full body. Released on a mutual connection.

06

Front view

Standing, facing the camera. The other half of the pair with 05.

Membership

Getting vetted is free. Reach is what you pay for.

The verification is never behind a paywall, because a room is only worth being in if everybody in it has been checked — including the people who have not paid.

The room is small on purpose.

Applications are read by a person, usually within three days. If we cannot verify you, we tell you why.

Questions

The ones people actually ask.

How long does verification take?
Usually three days. Most of that is waiting for an interview slot that suits you — the review itself is quick once somebody sits down with your file.
Why do you need a bare-face photograph?
Because it is the single most useful frame for establishing that the other five are of the same person, and because it is the one most dating profiles quietly omit. It is held back from your public grid and released only on a mutual connection.
What happens to my ID document?
A reviewer looks at it beside your photographs during the interview and records the outcome. It is never shown to another member, never used for matching, and never sold.
Can I be rejected?
Yes, and people are. The usual reasons are photographs that do not match the brief, an ID that does not match the face, or somebody who does not turn up to two booked interviews. We tell you the reason and you can apply again.
Do I have to pay to be verified?
No. Verification is free for everybody, permanently. You pay only if you want to browse without a daily limit and send connect requests.
Will my profile be on this website?
Only if you specifically agree to it. Being verified puts you in the app; appearing on a public web page is asked for separately, and the default is no.
